I have been working with the tapestry of birth for 15 years. I provide continuous emotional support during labour for the labouring couple. I believed wholeheartedly in my ability to give birth naturally each time. I was blessed with four amazing different and wonderful births.  I couldn\'t wait to hold and finally meet face to face each of my little ones. I didn\'t experience the contractions as pain, or something traumatic happening to me. Not at any time during my four births, did i even contemplate needing or wanting drugs or for someone to save me from the sensations and processes that were occuring in my own body. Birth was timeless for  me. I met each contraction with my breath, the sound of my own voice and surrendered to the movements that came naturally to me to assist my baby through my body and out into my arms. It's a wonderful beginning to motherhood and a life long relationship.

I am nearing the end of my doula course with Birthing Rites Australia. This is the longest doula training course available in Australia, lasting a year and includes at least 210 hours of face to face training. I
am feeling very confident that I would make an ideal and compassionate birth attendant, and I would love to increase my experience in birth to complete my training. With my background of specialising in herbal medicine and nutrition for pregnancy and birth, I have a good knowledge of the needs of women in this vulnerable time.
